Modern Technology

At Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics, we're quick to embrace new technology. The days of the goopy and gaggy impressions are over!

Our 3D iTero™ digital scanner not only avoids the uncomfortable putty-like impression experience, but lets us see more accurate views of our patient's teeth, allows us to show you a virtual simulation of your final smile, and provides the software to print clear and customized Invisalign® aligners specific just to you.

In addition, our 3D iCAT X-ray is a game-changer as we can see any aspect of your head and neck in great detail from any and every angle.

This quick and reliable X-ray machine is crucial in our accurate diagnosis and efficient treatment planning.

Zoom Teeth Whitening

Zoom teeth whitening is a great way to get a brighter smile, with lasting results ranging from six to eight shades whiter than when you started.

To get started, we’ll cover your lips and gums, leaving your teeth exposed. Next, we’ll apply the Zoom whitening gel to your teeth. This gel works with the Zoom light to penetrate your teeth and break up stains and discoloration.

We’ll leave the gel on your teeth for 15 minutes while the light is activated. This process is entirely pain-free, so you can sit back and relax.

The entire treatment includes up to four 15-minute sessions of light activation for a total of 60 minutes. After your treatment is complete, your doctor will apply a sensitivity-reducing fluoride paste gel to your teeth.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea and other sleep-related disorders are increasingly common medical conditions and can have many dangerous side effects if left untreated. As orthodontists, assessing the airway, tonsils, and adenoids via our 3D CBCT iCat X-ray technology has been a breakthrough tool for evaluating sleep issues for our patients.

At Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics, we also offer free sleep studies for children and adults. This makes sense for those who are at risk for sleep disturbances or if you'd like a more thorough analysis of your sleep—right from the comfort of your own home.

Based on the results of the sleep studies, we can refer patients to sleep physicians/specialists and fabricate various sleep appliances.

Orthodontics for All Ages

At Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics, we serve people of all ages including children, teens, and adults.

Metal Braces & More

Metal braces are the most common type of orthodontic treatment in Midland and Bay City, but you have other options, too.

At Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics, you can choose from traditional metal braces clear braces, and Invisalign to straighten your teeth.

During your first free consultation exam, your orthodontist will talk to you about which treatment would be the best fit for you based on your unique needs and smile goals.

Fixed Appliances Vs. Removable Appliances

At Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics, we believe you should be fully educated when it comes to your treatment. It’s helpful for our patients and their families to understand the difference between fixed and removable appliances.

Braces are fixed appliances, so your orthodontist attaches them to your teeth and won’t take them off until you complete your treatment in our Midland or Bay City office.

You’ll wear removable appliances like Invisalign clear aligners for 20-22 hours per day but you can take the trays out of your mouth to eat and brush your teeth.

Besides these major differences, we use Invisalign aligners to treat mild to moderate orthodontic problems and fixed appliances for comprehensive and serious treatment.
