Meet Your Bay City Family Orthodontist
Dr. Lisa Davis
Dr. Lisa is honored to call herself an orthodontist and help people smile every day. She enjoys affecting a person’s image and self-esteem in such a positive way.
Regardless of their age, each one of her patients has something very important to share with her. It is always amazing to see an adolescent patient start treatment and then finish as a young adult with a beautiful smile.
Dr. Lisa attended Kalamazoo College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan in 1993 and proceeded to earn her master’s and certificate in orthodontics in 1996 from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
She has proudly served the Great Lakes Bay region since 1996. Dr. Lisa is a native of Grosse Pointe Woods and loves spending much of her time, both at work and at home, with her husband Dr. Dale. They have a son, Alec, and three daughters, Madeline, Elizabeth, and Julia.
Dr. Dale Davis
Orthodontics is never dull for Dr. Dale. There are always new and interesting people and patients in the office to talk to and the uniqueness of each keeps it fresh. He learns a lot from them and it keeps his practice and life interesting and exciting!
Orthodontics is the culmination of everything Dr. Dale loves. He loves being around people! The adolescent patients keep him young and laughing. He also enjoys the artistic side of orthodontics and creating a beautiful, healthy smile!
Dr. Dale attended the University of Illinois at Champaign for his Bachelor of Science in 1988 and continued at the University of Michigan where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1992. He completed his certificate in orthodontics at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1994. Being from the small town of Peoria, Illinois, Dr. Dale found a new small-town home in the Great Lakes Bay Region in 1996.
He loves spending time with Dr. Lisa and their four wonderful children. He enjoys skiing and is an avid runner, having completed 11 marathons. Since 2004, he has also been involved with the Make-A-Wish foundation and its summer fundraiser, a 300-mile, three-day bike ride. He also enjoys history and genealogy; and is proud to say that he has traced his roots to ancestors in Wales, England, Ireland, and people who fought in the Revolutionary War.
Dr. Andrew Grillo
Having the ability to not only create a beautiful, confident smile but also create lifelong relationships with individuals and families in his hometown community is something unique and special that Dr. Grillo takes great pride in.
He feels fortunate to have a role as a leader and mentor in the Great Lakes Bay region that served him so well in his youth. He grew up in Midland as the youngest of six children and graduated in 2008 from Midland High School – where he met his wife, Lindsey (Dulude), who he shares a passion for sports and the outdoors with. Lindsey is currently an elementary teacher for Midland Public Schools. The couple completed their undergraduate studies as student-athletes at Central Michigan University, where Dr. Grillo was a discus thrower on the track team and Lindsey was an outside hitter on the volleyball team.
Dr. Grillo then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2016 as the president of his class at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. In 2018, he was awarded a Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics from the orthodontic residency at Indiana University. Dr. Grillo and Lindsey have two children: Addison and Christian. Soon after his orthodontic residency, Dr. Grillo completed the rigorous American Board of Orthodontics board certification process. Being a Board Certified Orthodontist is a designation held by only 30% of orthodontists.
Care For All Ages From Your Bay City Family Orthodontist
At Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics, we believe that everyone should be able to access quality orthodontic treatment and that everyone deserves a beautifully aligned smile. We are proud to offer a full range of orthodontic services, including braces and Invisalign, for children, teens, and adults at our offices in Midland and Bay City.
Bay City Orthodontics for Children
In order to ensure that your child is as healthy as possible, it's important that their teeth and jaws are properly aligned, giving them a healthy bite. Many parents are surprised to learn that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children get an orthodontic check-up no later than age 7.
By that age, your child's teeth have developed enough so that small problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth can be spotted while they still have some baby teeth. A check-up may reveal that your child's bite is fine and that braces won't be necessary, or we may identify a potential problem and recommended that we monitor it. From there, we may begin treatment at a time that is appropriate for the child. In other cases, we may recommended early treatment.
Orthodontic Care for Bay City Teens
Early treatment allows our team to monitor the growth and development of your child's jaw, meaning we can catch and begin treating problems while they're still in the early stages. This can cut down the length of treatment considerably.
Teens often want to know, "How long will I be in braces?" There's no set answer, as each case is different, just like each smile is unique. We're always going to do everything that we can to ensure that your teen has their most beautiful, forever smile. Fortunately, today's braces are a big improvement over the ones that previous generations have experienced. They're smaller, sleeker, and far more comfortable than ever before. They also come in a variety of styles, materials and colors.
In addition, teens also have more treatment options than ever before. In addition to traditional metal braces, teens also have the option of choosing clear, ceramic braces, which work the same way traditional braces do, but are designed to blend in with your teen's teeth, giving a more subtle appearance. Also, if your teen wants a new smile with no wires, whatsoever, they might consider treatment using clear aligners, such as Invisalign. Clear aligners straighten teeth gradually using a series of clear, removable trays that fit over the teeth.
Adult Orthodontics in Bay City
Orthodontic treatment isn't just for children and teens. More adults than ever are seeking beautiful, forever smiles through orthodontic treatment. Today, roughly 1-in-5 orthodontic patients are adults, so it's never too late to get that stunning smile that you've always wanted.
Many adults are choosing to receive treatment later in life because they understand how important it is to maintain their oral health, they want to feel better about their overall appearance, or both. We also see many adults who have received orthodontic treatment during their early years, but are in need of a "touch up" to regain the smiles they once had.
At Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics, we recognize that children, teens, and adults will all have different dental needs and need different levels of attention and care. We work diligently with each patient to ensure you receive the most appropriate treatment for you in the most inviting environment.
